This year, province says it plans to invest 107 billion yuan in 45 major projects to transform the province, with a design drawn up in 2013, to improve planning, coordination, and the integration of two cities, Taiyuan and Jinzhong. It is looking for a breakthrough in infrastructure in telecommunications, roads, and public transportation to integrate the use of space, layout, infrastructure, industry, and public services.

Meanwhile, construction work in new areas and improvements in old areas are expected to take place in other cities, each of which will develop its own characteristics through innovation and coordination so that, by 2015, the province will form an industrial system with coal mining as the base, and development that is diverse.
